Through answer key candidates will be able to check their questions along with their answers. The answer key helps the candidates to check their numbers of correct answers and wrong answers. They can also estimate that how many marks they are going to score in the final result.

Candidates can download their answer key by following the online procedure given below:
- Visit the official website link. (link is provided above)
- Open that link and you will be redirected to the official answer key link.
- Subject-wise answer key along with question paper will be displayed on your screen.
- Click on your subject answer key and download it.
- It will be downloaded in pdf format.
GATE Answer Key Challenge
The authority also provide the facility of challenging the answer key if any. After checking the generated answer key, if candidates not satisfied with the official answer key can challenge it for limited time period.
Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key by paying Rs. 500/- for each question. The final decision will be taken by the GATE conducting authority if the challenge is accepted.
The final answer key will be uploaded on the website. The final key will be released by the authority after accepting the objections from all candidates.
GATE 2020 Marking Scheme
GATE written examination has been conducted on different dates for all branches. The exam is conducted through online mode (computer-based test). MCQ questions of 1 mark, for every wrong option 1/3 mark is deducted and in 3 marks MCQ questions, 2/3 marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
There is no negative marking for numerical type questions. The negative marking is considered only in the multiple choice questions.
