IIMC 2020 Counselling has been started. 5th & Final Merit List has been released on 5th December 2020. Indian Institute of Mass Communication conducts its own entrance exam to offer admissions. It offered post graduate diploma courses in journalism in seven languages including English. The entrance exam is conducted once in every year by IIMC on a university level. After a few days of the written test, the authority will conduct the admission process on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the exam. The university will provide the final admission to the candidate on the basis of GD & PI result.
On the basis of rank obtained by the candidates in IIMC entrance exam they will be offered admission at any of the six campuses of IIMC. Candidates have to appear in the counselling rounds according to their ranks in the merit list.
At the time of counselling, candidates have to verify their original documents and submit the counselling fee. Only on verification of all the required documents, candidates will be allotted with the admission letter.
IIMC 2020 Counselling Schedule
The university will conduct the counselling through offline mode. The complete counselling schedule will be provided by the university after few days of the publication of merit list.
The counselling will be started soon after the publication of written result. The interview will be conducted from November 2020.
The verification of the documents and the choice filling will take place at the counselling venue only. After the allotted time period of the counselling, no candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling.
IIMC Merit List
Candidates those appeared in the written examination will be ranked on the basis of the marks obtained. The university display the merit list on the university website.
A separate category-wise merit list has been prepared for each course. The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/group discussion for the counselling. The candidates will be informed about the venue before the interview.
The list of candidates selected for the admission will be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and in the interview /group discussion. The weightage for the written examination and the interview / group discussion will be 75:25.
IIMC 2020 Counselling Procedure
The authority will send the call letter to the qualified candidates inviting for group discussion and personal interview. The counselling venue will be notified by the university on their website along with the admission notice.
The selected candidates have to reach the venue exactly given on the call letter to participate in the GD & PI. Other than the prescribed counselling date, no candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling rounds.
Candidates must carry their original documents along with them at the time of counselling for the verification. After the selection of the candidates, the final selection list of candidates will be released.

- 10th/12th Marksheet
- Graduation Marksheet
- Graduation Certificate
- Category Certificate
- Valid Photo Id proof
- Passport size photographs
- Counselling fee
IIMC Admission 2020
After the completion of the offline counselling, the selected candidates have to complete the admission formalities. Candidates have to report for the admission along with the generated admission letter.
At the time of admission, candidates also have to submit the admission fee to get final admission. It is also necessary to submit the original documents to the allotted department.
The admission are allotted to the candidates only within the prescribed time period of the admission mentioned in the admission letter.
