Admission Procedure

In Karnataka state, the admission to the law courses will be based on national or university level examination. Candidates will also get direct admission to the law programme on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination. There will be no state level examination conduct for providing admission to the law courses.

Entrance Exams

Some of the institutions in Karnataka will accept the scorecard of CLATLSAT examination. CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) exam will be organized by the NLUs on a rotation basis.

This exam will be held on 10th May 2020. For direct admission, candidates will have to fill the application form provided by the university.

Top Law Colleges in Karnataka

There are various reputed institutions which offer law courses in various disciplines/specializations. The top law colleges in Karnataka are University of Mysore, Christ University, Seshadripuram Law College, etc.

Candidates can pursue 5 years integrated, 3 years bachelor & 2 years master law courses from these colleges.

Law Admission 2020

Before filling the application form, candidates should check the eligibility criteria first. Candidates should meet the eligibility to get admission into law programmes. The basic eligibility criteria are given here:

  • There is no age restriction to apply, for the national level examination.
  • For three year LLB course, candidates should complete the graduation degree from any recognized university. For five-year law courses, candidates must pass the PUC/10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • For PG courses, candidates should complete their graduation degree in law.
  • Candidates should score 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category) in the above qualifying exam.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for admission to the law programme is different according to the colleges. Candidates, those qualify the CLAT examination, they have to fill the application form of the respective institution.

The institution will release a merit list of the selected candidates after completion of the application procedure. Selected candidates have to report at the allotted college along with the required documents.

Candidates, those want to get direct admission to the law colleges, their admission will be based on eligibility criteria & college norms. The direct admission will be done on the basis of the merit.
