IISER Admission 2020: Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Dates, Pattern

IISER 2020IISER Admission 2020 will be organized by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. IISER organizes a national level test known as IISER SCB Aptitude test to offer admission in 5 year dual degree programme of BS-MS.  Admission will be done through three channels – SCB, KVPY and on the basis of JEE Advanced exam. While JEE Advanced & KVPY are national level examination, but SCB is an only stream through which candidates will get admission on the basis of entrance test which IISER will conduct. Admission will be offered into seven IISER institutions situated in Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, Berhampur, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata. For KVPY Channel:

IISER 2020 Application Form

Candidates must check the following IISER 2020 Application Form details:

  • IISER 2020 Application Form will be filled through online mode for all channels.
  • The application form will release in fourth week of May 2020 for every channels.
  • Candidates will be allowed to apply for all three channels.
  • Each channel will require separate online application form.
  • Students are required to fill their choice of institution among all seven IISER in the application form.
  • Candidates will have to upload scanned images of passport size photograph & signature with copy of marksheet also.

Application Fee:

  • For General category, candidates will have to submit INR 2000/-
  • For SC/ST & Kashmiri Migrants, candidates will have to submit INR 1000/

Mode of Payment: Application Fee can be paid through online mode. The fee will be non-refundable.

IISER Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the following IISER Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Indian Citizens, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) & Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates are eligible to apply for IISER Admission 2020.
  • KVPY Channel: In this category, candidates need to have a valid KVPY fellowship commencing 2020-21. Candidates will also have to meet cut-off criteria which will be applicable (in addition).
  • JEE Advanced Channel: Candidates will have to qualify JEE Advanced admission and will have to obtain rank within 10000 in Common Rank List (CRL). For SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL categories, the category rank will be considered.
  • SCB Channel Qualification: Candidates must have passed/appearing intermediate examination with science stream in 2019 or 2020.
  • Mandatory (SCB): Candidates will have to score more or equal of cut-off percentage in their respective boards.
  • Cut-off (SCB): The cut-off percentage for intermediate prescribed by the board must be obtained in order to be eligible.
  • Appling (SCB): Students applying through SCB Channel will have to appear in IISER Aptitude Test 2020.

IISER 2020 Exam Pattern

Candidates must go through the following IISER 2020 Exam Pattern before starting the exam preparation:

  • Exam Mode: IISER 2020 will get conducted through online (computer-based) mode.
  • Number of Questions: There will be total of 60 questions, i.e. 15 from each subject.
  • Questions Type: The question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Duration: The exam duration will be of 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will be of 3 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will get deducted for every wrong answer.

IISER 2020 Syllabus

IISER 2020 Syllabus will comprise of topics from the subjects of PCMB studied in Class 11th& 12th level. Some topics from each subject will be:

Mathematics: The questions will be from topics as Sets, Number System, Relation & Functions, Trigonometry, Probability, Matrices & all topics of class 11th  & 12th NCERT books.

Physics: The questions will be from topics as Kinematics, Electrostatic, thermodynamics, Oscillations, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, and much more.

Chemistry: Some basic topics will be Equilibrium, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements, p-Block Elements, Surface Chemistry, Biomolecules and etc.

Biology: It will relate to topics such as Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetic &Evolution, and so on.

IISER Admission 2020 Preparation Tips

Candidates can follow the below preparation tips to score well in the exam and qualify the test:

  • Candidates must study from Class 11th& 12th NCERT books mostly recommended by experienced students.
  • Candidates must divide equal time for each subject.
  • Solve previous year question papers.
  • Concentrate on solving mock tests.
  • Keep the last month only for revision.
  • Make a proper study routine.

IISER 2020 Admit Card

The IISER 2020 Admit Card will be released through online mode. Candidates will have to login with their email ID & password to download the admit card of IISER 2020. The admit card will contain all the details like candidates name, roll no., exam centre, exam & other exam instructions.

It will be released by third week of June 2020. Admit card is a mandatory document to carry in the examination hall. No candidate will be permitted for exam without admit card.

IISER 2020 Answer Key

Candidates will be able to check IISER 2020 Answer Key through online mode. It will be released in the last week of June 2020. Through answer key candidates will be able to check their answers of examination. Candidates will get an idea of their marks.

Candidates will have to enter their registered ID and password to check & see the answer key. The officials will release separate answer key for all three channels.

IISER 2020 Cut Off

The authority will release the percentage cut-off for IISER 2020 admisison. Candidates will be able to check it through online mode. Cut-off is the minimum marks which students have to score to qualify the examination.

It will be based on various factors like total number of candidates, difficulty level of exam, no. of seats available, previous year cut-off trends, etc.

IISER 2020 Result

IISER 2020 Result will get declared through online mode. Candidates who will appear for the aptitude test will be able to check their result. The result will get declared by the second week of July 2020. Candidates will have to enter their roll number, registered ID and password to check their result.

The result page will only contain the roll number of qualified candidates. Candidates who will see their roll number on the list will qualify the exam successfully. Candidates are advised to take print out of their result for further use.

IISER 2020 Counselling

IISER 2020 Counselling process will be conducted for short-listed candidates. It will get commence in the month of June-July 2020. Separate counselling will be held for each channel. Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of reservation policy and various other factors.

Candidates have to fill choice of programme of institute in which they will seek for admission. Candidates have to report to allotted institution with fee to confirm their admission along with following required documents:

  • Class 10th marksheet & passing certificate
