Admission Procedure

The admissions in engineering courses will be offered through national level and state level entrance exams. Candidates can appear in the exam by filling up the application form.

On qualifying the entrance exam, candidates will be called for counselling for providing admissions. Candidates can also appear in university level entrance exam for admission in particular university.

Entrance Exams

Candidates can appear in any of the entrance exams to get admission in the B.Tech courses offered in the state. The admissions will be offered through the national level JEE Main 2019 entrance exam for B.Tech and JEE Advanced for admission in IITs.

The state level admission process is also conducted for engineering courses by the name of TNEA 2019 (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). Candidates can also appear in SRMJEEE, AEEE and VITEEE 2019 university level exams. For M.Tech courses, candidates must have to appear in national level GATE 2019 entrance exam.

B.Tech Admission 2019

Candidates must fulfill the eligibilities given below to be eligible to sit in the written exam.

  • Candidates should pass the 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • The qualifying exam should pass with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects.
  • Candidates have to score minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) in their qualifying examination.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

The counselling will be organized after the announcement of the entrance exam result. The seats will be allotted on the basis of rank of the candidates. TNEA is an admission process in which admissions will be offered on the basis of 12th class percentage.

In the counselling session candidates have to select the institutions and specialization of their choice. Candidates those who are qualified in the entrance exam will be called for the counselling.

It is necessary to attend counselling to get admission in the participating institutions. On the basis of entrance test score, 12th score, filled choice & availability of seats, the seat will be allotted to the candidates.
