Admission Procedure

Students can apply for admission in B.Tech courses through the national level entrance test. No state level exam is organized for providing admission.

Some colleges may also give admission in engineering courses on the basis of merit list. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam.

Entrance Exams

In Himachal Pradesh, admissions will be done through JEE Main exam. It is a national level entrance exam administrated by the CBSE board. Students looking for admission in IIT are required to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams.

Before filling the application, candidates must check the eligibility criteria for applying. Candidates will be able to fill the application form of JEE Main 2019. Here we have given the eligibility criteria for B.Tech course:

• Candidates should have passed/appearing in the 12^th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
• In the qualifying exam, students must have physics, chemistry & mathematics subjects.
• Candidates must have qualified 12^th exams in 2017 and 2018 are eligible to apply.
• Candidates must born on or after 1st October 1994 (for general) and 1st October 1989 (for reserved categories).

Selection Procedure

Candidates have to qualify the entrance test or they can apply on the basis of merit as prescribed by the respective college. Students will be able to participate in the counselling process according to their rank. Through counselling process, candidates will fill their preferences for admission.

Seats will be allotted as per the choices filled, rank, category and availability of seats. Candidates have to appear at the allotted college with required documents and fees to confirm their admission.
