DASA 2020: Application Form, Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria

DASA 2020 will be organized by Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad. Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) is a scheme launched by MHRD Govt. of India to offer admission to NRIs and foreign nationals. Admission will be offered into engineering, architecture design, and management courses through SAT / GRE/ GMAT Scores. Eligible candidates will get admission in various NITs, IISET, SPAs, IIEST, Central Universities & other centrally funded & Premier Technical Institutions. DASA 2020 Application Form

Candidates must check the following details of DASA 2020 Application Form:

• DASA 2020 Application form can be filled through online mode.
• Candidates will have to send SAT Subject test score to MNNIT Allahabad through College Board, USA.
• Candidates will have to register through valid email ID to get their login credentials.
• Candidates need not to send the copy of application or supporting documents to the authority.
• Candidates must upload all relevant documents of scanned copies in prescribed format.
• Once the application form will get submitted, no change or edit will be allowed later.

Application Fee:

Mode of Payment: The application form fee can be submitted through E-payment (credit card/debit card) or swift transfer.

DASA 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must go through following section to know DASA 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

General Eligibility:

• Nationality: NRI/ PIO/ OCI and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

UG Courses:

• Age Limit: Applying Candidates must have born on or after 1^st October, 1995.
• Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12^th level or equivalent examination recognized by Association of Indian University.
• Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have completed 11^th and 12^th level with Mathematics and Physics subjects and any one from Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, or Computer Science.
• Percentage: Applicants must have secured minimum 60% marks (all subjects average of qualifying exam) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination.
• Appearing: Candidates appearing in the 12^th level are also eligible to apply.
• SAT Score: Candidates must have scored minimum of 1800 score in SAT subject Test which includes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as Level 2. SAT scores will have to be sent directly through College Board to MNNIT Allahabad.

PG Courses:

• Qualification: Candidates must possess Bachelors degree of 4-5 years in UG Programme in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent discipline.
• Percentage: Candidates must have secured minimum of 60% marks (all subjects’ average of qualifying exam) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying exam.
• M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Des. /M.Plan: Appearing candidates must have scored total (minimum) of 300 GRE Revised General tests taken (Quantitative + Verbal).
• For MBA: Candidates must have scored minimum 480 GMAT Test scores for MBA.

FAQ’S (Frequently Asked Questions)

Question: Can I modify my application form after submission?

Answer: No, no change or edit will be entertained in application form after submission.

Question: When will the application process for UG courses start?

Answer: The application process of DASA 2020 will start in the 2^nd week of April 2020.

Question: Can I apply for more than one course?

Answer: Yes, you will be able to apply for more than one course also.

Question: When can a candidate take SAT subject test?

Answer: Candidates can take SAT subject test by second week of June 2020.

Question: What if my latest SAT test score did not reach before deadline ?

Answer: In case the SAT test score did not reach authority before last date the authority will not consider DASA 2020 application.

Question: Can I fill the application form through offline mode ?

Answer: No, you will have to fill DASA 2020 application form through online mode.

Question: Can I fill the application form in Hindi language?

Answer: No other language except English will be accepted in application form for DASA 2020.

DASA 2020 Merit List

DASA 2020 Merit List will be prepared by the authority and released online. For UG courses, merit list will be prepared on the basis of total SAT subject scores only. Those applicants whose valid score of SAT will be received by MNNIT Allahabad before 2^nd week of June 2020 from College Board will only be considered for merit list & seat allotment process.

For PG course, merit list will be on the basis of total GRE/ GMAT Test scores only. Candidates whose valid score of GRE/ GMAT will be received by MNNIT Allahabad before last week of June 2020 will be considered for merit list & seat allotment process.

DASA 2020 Selection Procedure

DASA 2020 Selection for UG courses will be done in 4 rounds whereas for PG will be in 2 rounds. Candidates who will be eligible would be considered for 1^st round of allotment. Candidates will have to confirm their option before last week of June 2020.

Candidates who will attend Round 1 will have two choices either of accepting or declining the allotted seat. If candidates will accept, the allotted course/ institute & provisional allotment letter will be generated. If candidates will decline, the rights for further seat allotment in Round 2^nd& 3^rd will be lost. He/she will only eligible to register for round 4^th& spot round.

All candidates who will not be chosen for Round 1 or they had opted for accept in round 1 will be considered for Round 2 selection. Same rule will be applicable for Round 3. For round 4, UG candidates will have to send valid SAT subject test score.

DASA 2020 Counselling

Shortlisted candidates will be appearing for DASA 2020 Counselling. It will be conducted through online mode. Counselling schedule will be notified after the merit list declaration. The seat allotment list will be declared after each round of counselling. It will be allotted as per the choice of candidates made for the participating institutes.

The counselling process will be done according to seats availability. Candidates can participate in various rounds only if they are not satisfied with the previous seat allotment. After counselling & seat allotment process, candidates will have to report to allotted institute for admission.

DASA 2020 Admission

In the DASA 2020 Admission Procedure, candidates have to download admission letter by online mode. Selected candidates will have to report to allotted institution for the final admission. Candidates have to download and report with their admission letter at the allotted institution.

Also, candidates have to carry original & photocopies of necessary documents for verification. Few seats will be reserved for the candidates based on their nationality. Candidates will have to also attend medical fitness exam and qualify it to get admission.
